Always looking for a beacon to my homeland 👽👽 And anyway, I love this tower. The Soviets were flabbergasted because the sun kept shining just right for the reflection to look like a cross (they'd removed the cross from the church at this time), and after many costly and inaffective attempts to rid of the ghastly sign, they declared, "IT'S A PLUS FOR COMMUNISIM!!!"

Should we go away to a land of fire & ice where the sun won't set?

Iceland is divided by the Mid-Atlantic Rift, the geographic space where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates are moving away from one another. This is the only place in the world where this rift is above sea-level, and nowhere can you see the edges of both plates as clearly as in Þingvellir.

Open roads have always been something I think we all can relate to, Something we all yearn to experience, Hoping that one car in front of us Will finally turn off and we can Command the road as we see fit. Open roads seem to me, to be A sort of controlled freedom, A safety net of eventual destination, Leading us somewhere, Even if it is nowhere, For now.

The little moments are the most visceral.

What a beautiful, accidental discovery we had in Amsterdam - the conclusion of Pride festival wrapped up this weekend, the pinnacle of which was the giant Canal Parade with over 300 boats legally registered to participate in the celebration of love in all its forms. Love, happiness, and fierceness abound. So glad to have experienced it with @madisonstehle !

This summer, I have been privileged enough to investigate the immigration and refugee crisis in Italy firsthand, enabling me to continue my interests in a direct, hands-on approach. Who are we? Why are we here? Do we belong? One thing is certain, issues of identity are irrefutably intertwined in anti-immigration sentiment. “They” are too different than “us,” as the story goes. There were days when I hung my laundry to dry in the French countryside and walked the best pupper through hilltop cemetaries and ate the most exquisite bread and pastries of my life with @bellacrowne (It's been a year.)

I always manage to forget the crickets and cicadas and frogs conducting their nighttime symphony until I'm back in the middle of it, and I honestly couldn't be happier.
